Bruce Korte (Saskatoon , SK) qualified for the 2016 Direct Horizontal Drilling Fall Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB).

Korte finished 5-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Korte defeated Rui Liu (HARBIN, CHN) 8-3, then went on to lose 6-5 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). Korte lost 5-4 to Kody Hartung (Saskatoon , SK) where Korte responded with a 7-3 win over Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB). Korte won 7-3 against Hartung, then won 7-4 against SooHyuk Kim (Gangwon, KOR) and 6-5 against Mick Lizmore (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Korte earned 25.734 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Direct Horizontal Drilling Fall Classic, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 34th place overall with 126.566 total points. Korte ranks 39th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 29.957 points earned so far this season.
