Jean-Michel Menard (Gatineau, QC) won 6-1 over Michael Fournier (Montreal, QC) in the Final of the Capital Curling Classic, held October 7 - 10, 2016 in Ottawa, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Menard won 12-3 over Colin Dow (Ottawa, ON) in the semifinals of the 2016 Capital Curling Classic in Ottawa, Ontario; and won 8-2 over Martin Ferland (Levis, QC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Capital Curling Classic in Ottawa, Ontario;
 
Menard finished 2-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Menard defeated Ritchie Gillan (Ottawa, ON) 10-5, then went on to lose 8-6 against Mathieu Beaufort (Sorel-Tracy, QC). Menard responded with a 8-5 win over Bryan Cochrane (Russell, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Capital Curling Classic Championship title, Menard earned 22.659 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 24th place overall with 161.348 total points.
