Fournier finished 3-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fournier defeated Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) 9-3, then won 7-6 against Homan and 4-2 against Benoit Vezeau (Montreal, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Capital Curling Classic, Fournier take home 17.804 world rankings points along with the $2,600CDN prize, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 59th place overall with 69.035 total points.
