Muirhead finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muirhead defeated Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) 5-4, then won 8-3 against Chantelle Eberle (Regina, SK) and 7-3 against Daniela Driendl (Fuessen, GER). Muirhead won 7-1 against Danielle Schmiemann (Edmonton, AB), then won 6-5 against Gina Aitken (Edinburgh, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the HDF Insurance Shoot-Out, Muirhead take home 39.559 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN prize, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 6th place overall with 344.708 total points.
