Kyle Smith (Stirling, SCO) won 7-2 over Heath McCormick (Blaine, USA) in the Final of the Oakville OCT Fall Classic, held September 2 - 4, 2016 at the Oakville Curling Club in Oakville, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Smith won 5-4 over Ontario's Chris Gardner in the semifinals of the 2016 Oakville OCT Fall Classic in Oakville, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-4 over Ontario's Dayna Deruelle in the quarterfinals.

Smith finished 4-0 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated Todd Birr (Blaine, USA) 4-2, then won 6-3 against Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) and 8-4 against Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON). Smith won 6-2 against Hugh Murphy (Oakville, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
