Alina Paetz (Zurich, SUI) lost 8-3 to Eve Muirhead (Perth, SCO) in the Final of the Glynhill Ladies International, held January 19 - 22, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Paetz won 7-2 over Margaretha Sigfridsson (Skelleftea, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2017 Glynhill Ladies International in Glasgow, Scotland; and won 8-4 over Bingyu Wang (HARBIN, CHN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Glynhill Ladies International in Glasgow, Scotland;
 
Paetz finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Paetz defeated Melanie Barbezat (Biel, SUI) 5-4, then won 5-4 against Marta Szeliga-Frynia (Lodz, POL) and 9-7 against Isabella Wrana (Sundbyberg, SWE). Paetz won 7-1 against Oona Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN). Paetz went on to lose 9-3 against Muirhead in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Glynhill Ladies International, Paetz take home 30.564 world rankings points along with the $3,295CDN prize.
