Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI) qualified for the 2017 German Masters playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 10-5 against Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS).

Pfister finished 2-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pfister defeated Timofeev 6-5, then went on to lose 7-6 against Aku Kauste (Helsinki, FIN). Pfister responded with a 6-1 win over David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Pfister earned 19.038 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the German Masters. Pfister move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 17.938 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 24th overall with 253.801 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
