Wang finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wang defeated Nova Scotia's Theresa Breen 8-7, then went on to lose 7-4 against Paetz. Wang responded with a 7-1 win over Shannon Birchard (Winnipeg, MB). Wang went on to lose 6-5 against Cory Christensen (Blaine, USA). Wang responded with a 5-4 win over Robyn MacPhee (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
