Randy Neufeld (La Salle, MB) finished 8-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Neufeld defeated Glen Hudy (Yellowknife, NT) 4-3, then went on to lose 6-5 against Brad Heidt (Kerrobert, SK). Neufeld responded with a 7-4 win over Robbie Gordon (Sudbury, NONT). Neufeld went on to lose 8-3 against Bryan Cochrane (Russell, ON). Neufeld responded with a 7-6 win over Walter Wallingham (Whitehorse, YK). Neufeld won 9-4 against Ed Lukowich (Calgary, AB), then won 8-5 against Rod MacDonald (Charlottetown, PEI) and 6-3 against Jeff Thomas (St. John's, NL). Neufeld won 10-1 against Alan O'Leary (Dartmouth, NS), then won 6-0 against Bob Ursel (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week of the event schedule, Neufeld did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Neufeld ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
