Margaretha Sigfridsson (Sundsvall, SWE) won 7-3 over Anna Hasselborg (Stockholm, SWE) in the Final of the Swedish Eliteserien, held December 4 - February 21, 2016 in Sundsvall / Sundbyberg, Sweden.
 
Sigfridsson finished 11-3 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sigfridsson defeated Towe Lundman (Uppsala, SWE) 8-3, then won 7-4 against Cissi Ostlund (Karlstad, SWE) and 9-7 against Anette Norberg (Stockholm, SWE). Sigfridsson won 9-2 against Karin Rudstrom (Gavle, SWE), then won 4-3 against Hasselborg and 5-3 against Isabella Wrana (Stockholm, SWE). Sigfridsson won 6-4 against Tova Sundberg (Ostersund, SWE), then won 6-1 against Lundman and 6-2 against Ostlund. Sigfridsson went on to lose 7-5 against Norberg. Sigfridsson lost 6-2 to Rudstrom. Sigfridsson lost 6-2 to Hasselborg where Sigfridsson responded with a 8-3 win over Wrana. Sigfridsson won 6-3 against Sundberg in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Swedish Eliteserien Championship title, Sigfridsson earned 15.015 world rankings points, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 13th place overall with 343.065 total points. Sigfridsson ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 144.765 points earned so far this season.
