Ostlund responded with a 7-3 win over Sundberg. Ostlund won 6-5 against Lundman. Ostlund went on to lose 10-7 against Wrana. Ostlund responded with a 8-7 win over Hasselborg. Ostlund went on to lose 8-5 against Norberg in their final qualifying round match.

Ostlund earned 3.754 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
