Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) run at the 2016 AJCT Players Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 8-5 loss to Alberta's Jeremy Harty. of the 2016 AJCT Players Championship in Spruce Grove, Alberta;
 
Sturmay finished 3-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay lost 4-3 to Alberta's Glenn Venance, then responded with a 5-3 win over Alberta's Cole Adams. Sturmay won 8-2 against Alberta's Ryan Jacques. Sturmay went on to lose 6-5 against Alberta's Jeremy Harty. Sturmay responded with a 7-6 win over Alberta's Glenn Venance in their final qualifying round match.
