To advance to the championship game, McArdle won 8-6 over Dean Joanisse (Maple Ridge, BC) in the semifinals of the 2016 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; and won 8-4 over Brent Pierce (Whitehorse, YK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada;
 
McArdle finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McArdle defeated Jon Solberg (Whitehorse, YK) 8-7, then won 4-3 against Matthew McCrady (New Westminster, BC). McArdle went on to lose 7-4 against Joanisse in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel, McArdle take home 13.781 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN prize, moving up 52 spots the World Ranking Standings into 147th place overall with 28.443 total points. McArdle ranks 94th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 23.275 points earned so far this season.
