To advance to the championship game, Wang won 6-3 over British Columbia's Marla Mallett in the semifinals of the 2016 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; and won 5-2 over Sarah Koltun (Whitehorse, YK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Wang finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wang defeated Jenn Nguyen (Denver, CO) 11-1, then won 7-5 against Amanda Russett (Kamloops, BC) and 7-4 against Dailene Pewarchuk (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
