To advance to the championship game, Fujisawa won 8-3 over Karla Thompson (Kamloops, BC) in the semifinals of the 2016 Hub International Crown of Curling in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada; and won 5-3 over Corryn Brown (Kamloops - New Westminster - Nanaimo, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Hub International Crown of Curling in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Fujisawa finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fujisawa defeated 's Suji Kim 8-1, then went on to lose 7-4 against Brown. Fujisawa responded with a 9-3 win over Diane Gushulak (Vancouver , BC). Fujisawa won 8-2 against Kim in their final qualifying round match.
