Karla Thompson (Kamloops, BC) finished 2-1 in the 4-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thompson lost 8-7 to Geneva Chislett (Iqaluit, NU), then responded with a 8-4 win over Nicole Baldwin (Whitehorse, YK). Thompson won 8-6 against Kerry Galusha (Yellowknife, NT) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Scotties Pre-Qualifier Championship title, Thompson earned 3.675 world rankings points, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 73rd place overall with 58.701 total points. Thompson ranks 68th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 43.562 points earned so far this season.
