Yasumoto Natsuizaka (Karuizawa, JPN) finished 4-4 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Natsuizaka lost 8-4 to Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN), then responded with a 11-4 win over Kanya Shimizun (Furano, JPN). Natsuizaka won 7-3 against Japan's Ryo Ogihara. Natsuizaka went on to lose 8-2 against Gaku Suzuki (Sapporo, JPN). Natsuizaka responded with a 8-1 win over Minoru Kusaka (Aomori, JPN). Natsuizaka won 8-2 against Japan's Ryo Wakabayashi. Natsuizaka went on to lose 10-5 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Natsuizaka lost 6-5 to Japan's Junpei Kanda in their final qualifying round match.

Natsuizaka earned 1.995 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 293 spots the World Ranking Standings into 404th place overall with 1.995 total points. Natsuizaka ranks 345th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.995 points earned so far this season.
