Koe finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON) 6-4, then went on to lose 7-6 against John Epping (Toronto, ON). Koe responded with a 6-5 win over John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Koe won 7-3 against Edin in their final qualifying round match.
