In their opening game, Morris defeated Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) 8-4, then won 6-5 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) and 9-2 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). Morris won 8-3 against David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
