British Columbia's Jim Vinson 9-8, then won 9-1 against Nova Scotia's Louise Gillis and 9-5 against Saskatchewan's Natasha Acher. Watson won 8-6 against Manitoba's Norman Lyons. Watson went on to lose 8-7 against Norm Green (Kitchener, ON). Watson responded with a 9-2 win over Newfoundland / Labrador's Maurice Colbert in their final qualifying round match.
