6-4 to Ayumi Ogasawara (Sapporo, Hokkaido, JPN), droppimg another game, 8-2 to Stacie Curtis (St. John's, NL) where Sobering responded with a 8-6 win over Cheryl McBain (Ottawa, ON). Sobering went on to lose 7-2 against Cathy Auld (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
