Shuster finished 7-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuster defeated Heath McCormick (New York, NY) 9-5, then won 8-2 against Pete Fenson (Blaine, USA). Shuster went on to lose 10-7 against Clark. Shuster responded with a 9-3 win over Alex Leichter (Boston, MA). Shuster went on to lose 8-2 against Korey Dropkin (Blaine, USA). Shuster responded with a 9-6 win over Brandon Corbett (Rochester, NY). Shuster won 8-6 against Todd Birr (Blaine, MN), then won 10-5 against Hunter Clawson (Baltimore, MD) and 8-5 against Craig Brown (Blaine, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the USA Men's National Curling Championship, Shuster take home 34.031 world rankings points. Shuster move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 29.403 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 12th overall with 355.867 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
