Hunter Clawson (Baltimore, MD) finished 4-5 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Clawson lost 8-7 to Todd Birr (Blaine, MN), droppimg another game, 7-6 to Craig Brown (Blaine, USA) where Clawson responded with a 8-6 win over Brandon Corbett (Rochester, NY). Clawson won 9-6 against Heath McCormick (New York, NY), then won 6-5 against Pete Fenson (Blaine, USA). Clawson went on to lose 7-2 against Alex Leichter (Boston, MA). Clawson responded with a 7-4 win over Brady Clark (Seattle, WA). Clawson went on to lose 10-5 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Clawson lost 9-4 to Korey Dropkin (Blaine, USA) in their final qualifying round match.

Clawson earned 6.187 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 17 spots the World Ranking Standings into 155th place overall with 25.952 total points. Clawson ranks 124th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 24.352 points earned so far this season.
