Jill Brothers (Halifax, NS) won 8-5 over Mary-Anne Arsenault (Halifax, NS) in the Final of the Nova Scotia Scotties, held January 19 - 24, 2016 at the Mayflower Curling Club in Timberlea, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Brothers won 11-5 over Theresa Breen (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2016 Nova Scotia Scotties in Timberlea, Nova Scotia, Canada;
Brothers finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brothers defeated Colleen Pinkney (Truro, NS) 10-3, then won 8-4 against Christie Gamble (Halifax, NS) and 6-5 against Emily Dwyer (Halifax, NS). Brothers went on to lose 7-5 against Arsenault. Brothers responded with a 7-6 win over Julie McEvoy (Halifax, NS). Brothers went on to lose 8-7 against Breen. Brothers responded with a 8-6 win over Colleen Jones (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Nova Scotia Scotties Championship title, Brothers earned 11.550 world rankings points, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 58th place overall with 80.260 total points. Brothers ranks 45th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 74.206 points earned so far this season.
