Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) finished 5-4 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Manuel lost 9-6 to Felix Asselin (Montreal, QC), then responded with a 18-1 win over Arthur Siksik (Rankin Inlet, NU). Manuel went on to lose 7-2 against Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB). Manuel lost 9-8 to Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) where Manuel responded with a 9-3 win over Greg Smith (St. John, NL). Manuel went on to lose 7-4 against Doug Kee (Ottawa, ON). Manuel responded with a 12-6 win over Brayden Klassen (Whitehorse, YK). Manuel won 10-3 against Matthew Miller (Inuvik, NT), then won 9-2 against Matthew MacLean (O'Leary, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.

Manuel earned 2.061 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Manuel did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Manuel ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
