Felix Asselin (Montreal, QC) finished 6-4 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Asselin defeated Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) 9-6, then won 9-6 against Doug Kee (Ottawa, ON). Asselin went on to lose 9-8 against Greg Smith (St. John, NL). Asselin responded with a 11-0 win over Arthur Siksik (Rankin Inlet, NU). Asselin won 8-4 against Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB). Asselin went on to lose 9-3 against Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB). Asselin lost 8-5 to Jake Hersikorn (Saskatoon, SK) where Asselin responded with a 10-9 win over Alex Robichaud (Moncton, NB). Asselin won 9-5 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC). Asselin went on to lose 5-4 against Tanner Horgan (Copper Cliff, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.

Asselin earned 2.473 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Asselin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Asselin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
