Elena Stern (Luzern, SUI) finished 4-5 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stern lost 7-2 to Mary Fay (Chester, CAN), droppimg another game, 8-6 to Evgeniy Demkina (Moscow, RUS) where Stern responded with a 12-5 win over Therese Westman (Stockholm, SWE). Stern won 9-7 against Ayano Tsuchiya (Karuizawa, JPN). Stern went on to lose 5-2 against Korea's Min Ji Kim. Stern responded with a 10-4 win over Dilsat Yildiz (Erzurum, TUR). Stern went on to lose 7-3 against Cory Christensen (Blaine, USA). Stern responded with a 11-4 win over Sophie Jackson (Sitrling, SCO). Stern went on to lose 7-5 against Dorottya Palancsa (Budapest, HUN) in their final qualifying round match.

Stern earned 2.001 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Stern did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Stern ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
