In their opening game, Burtnyk defeated Randine Baker (Winnipeg, MB) 8-3, then won 8-2 against Emma Jensen (Dauphin, MB) and 11-6 against Hanne Jensen (Dauphin, MB). Burtnyk won 9-3 against Kaitlyn Payette (Brandon, MB), then won 7-6 against Christine MacKay (Winnipeg, MB) and 9-5 against Shae Bevan (Winnipeg, MB). Burtnyk won 4-3 against Ackland in their final qualifying round match.
