Lyle Sieg (Seattle, WA) finished 2-3 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sieg defeated Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO) 11-8, then went on to lose 7-4 against Alex Leichter (Boston, MA). Sieg lost 9-8 to Minnesota's Josh Bahr where Sieg responded with a 8-4 win over Eric Fenson (Bemidji, MN). Sieg went on to lose 7-4 against Mike Farbelow (St. Paul, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

Sieg earned 1.046 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 227th place overall with 10.742 total points. Sieg ranks 269th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.148 points earned so far this season.
