In their opening game, Hyde defeated Tom Hyde (Portage la Prairie, MB) 9-3, then went on to lose 9-8 against Lorne Hamblin (Morris, MB). Hyde responded with a 9-7 win over Jeff Stewart (Arden, MB). Hyde went on to lose 8-7 against Randy Neufeld (LaSalle, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Hyde earned 0.598 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 18 of the event schedule, Hyde did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
