Kristy McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) lost 7-5 to Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Manitoba Scotties, held January 19 - 24, 2016 in Beausejour, Manitoba.

McDonald finished 6-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McDonald defeated Terry Ursel (Neepawa, MB) 11-3, then won 8-4 against Christine MacKay (Winnipeg, MB) and 8-3 against Mackenzie Zacharias (Altona, MB). McDonald won 9-5 against Kim Link (East St. Paul, MB), then won 9-4 against Shannon Birchard (Winnipeg, MB) and 6-4 against Michelle Wiens (Winnipeg, MB). McDonald went on to lose 9-5 against Joelle Brown (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Manitoba Scotties, McDonald take home 21.450 world rankings points, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 12th place overall with 346.437 total points. McDonald ranks 14th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 183.787 points earned so far this season.
