Karla Thompson (Kamloops, BC) won 11-3 over Kelly Scott (Kelowna, BC) in the Final of the BC Scotties, held January 19 - 24, 2016 at the Coquitlam Curling Club in Coquitlam, Canada.
 
Thompson finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thompson defeated Amanda Russett (Kamloops, BC) 8-5, then won 9-6 against Diane Gushulak (New Westminster, BC) and 9-7 against Patti Knezevic (Prince George, BC). Thompson won 7-4 against Kesa Van Osch (Nanaimo, BC), then won 7-6 against Sarah Wark (Victoria, BC). Thompson went on to lose 11-7 against Amy Gibson (Vancouver, BC). Thompson lost 8-7 to Scott in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the BC Scotties Championship title, Thompson earned 11.550 world rankings points, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 75th place overall with 55.026 total points. Thompson ranks 71st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 39.887 points earned so far this season.
