Riley Fenson (Bemidji, MN) lost 4-3 to Violette in the Final of the Youth Olympic Games Trials, held November 5 - 8, 2015 in Blaine, Minnesota. To advance to the championship game, Fenson won 5-4 over Luc Violette (Lake Stevens, WA) in the semifinals of the 2016 Youth Olympic Games Trials in Blaine, Minnesota;
 
Fenson finished 4-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fenson defeated Michael Elwing (Brookfield, WI) 10-1, then went on to lose 6-1 against Violette. Fenson responded with a 10-7 win over Jonathan Harstad (Duluth, MN). Fenson won 6-2 against Chase Sinnett (Medfield, MA), then won 6-3 against Eli Clawson (Clarksville, MD) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Fenson did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Fenson ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
