Folk responded with a 8-5 win over British Columbia's Ron Thompson. Folk went on to lose 9-5 against Quebec's Myron Nussey. Folk lost 11-6 to Ontario's Fred Osburn where Folk responded with a 9-7 win over Prince Edward Island's Don Carmichael. Folk went on to lose 12-6 against Alberta's Dave Haley. Folk responded with a 6-4 win over Brian Penston (Winnipeg, MB). Folk won 10-7 against Nova Scotia's Eric Tweedle in their final qualifying round match.
