To advance to the championship game, Ackerman won 5-1 over Dale Craig (Saskatoon, SK) in the semifinals of the 2015 Heritage Inn SCT Spiel in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; and won 7-5 over Randy Bryden (Regina, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2015 Heritage Inn SCT Spiel in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan;

Ackerman finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ackerman defeated Tyler Krupski (Moose Jaw, SK) 5-4, then won 4-2 against Matthew Mourot (Saskatoon, SK) and 8-2 against Brent Gedak (Estevan, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
