To advance to the championship game, Alberta's Pat Simmons won 8-3 over Charley Thomas (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Ed Werenich Golden Wrench Classic in Tempe, Arizona, United States; and won 5-3 over John Shuster (Duluth, USA) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Ed Werenich Golden Wrench Classic in Tempe, Arizona, United States;
