John Shuster (Duluth, USA) qualified for the 2016 Aberdeen International Curling Championship playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-3 against Switzerland's Michael Brunner. of the 2016 Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland;

Shuster finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuster defeated Scott MacLeod (Edinburgh, SCO) 7-1, then won 9-2 against Stuart Taylor (Glasgow, SCO) and 6-5 against Markus Hoiberg (Oppdal, NOR). Shuster went on to lose 7-6 against Aku Kauste (Helsinki, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.

Shuster earned 15.376 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Aberdeen International Curling Championship.
