Alex Forrest (Winnipeg, MB) qualified for the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against John Epping (Toronto, ON). of the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota, United States;

Forrest finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Forrest defeated Colin Koivula (Thunder Bay, NONT) 6-0, then won 4-2 against Craig Brown (Blaine, USA) and 7-2 against Todd Birr (Blaine, MN). Forrest went on to lose 6-2 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Forrest earned 20.833 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 27th place overall with 154.402 total points.
