Michel responded with a 6-3 win over Alexey Tselousov (Moscow, RUS). Michel went on to lose 7-4 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). Michel lost 8-2 to Kevin Koe (Calgary, CAN) in their final qualifying round match.

Michel earned 10.574 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 34 of the event schedule, Michel did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 16th place on the World Ranking Standings with 305.298 total points.
