Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS) won 6-4 over Jason Vaughan (saint john, NB) in the Final of the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic, held December 4 - 6, 2015 at the Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club in Saint John, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Murphy won 6-3 over Glen MacLeod (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2015 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; and won 8-2 over Rene Comeau (Fredericton, NB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2015 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada;
Murphy finished 4-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murphy defeated Comeau 5-3, then won 6-5 against Jason Roach (Saint John, NB) and 6-1 against Damien Lahiton (Moncton, NB). Murphy went on to lose 7-5 against Terry Odishaw (Moncton, NB). Murphy responded with a 9-6 win over Robert Campbell (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic Championship title, Murphy earned 14.184 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 39th place overall with 110.247 total points. Murphy ranks 29th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 81.810 points earned so far this season.
