In their opening game, Ontario's Julie Tippin defeated Marilyn Bodogh (St. Catharines, ON) 5-3, then won 8-4 against Courtney de Winter (Richmond Hill, ON) and 9-3 against Ontario's Janet McGhee. Ontario's Julie Tippin won 7-3 against Katie Cottrill (Listowel, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
