Shen finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shen defeated Tyler Klymchuk (Langley, BC) 5-4, then went on to lose 6-2 against Stephen Schneider (Vancouver/Vernon, BC). Shen responded with a 5-4 win over Sean Geall (New Westminster , BC). Shen went on to lose 8-5 against Bob Smallwood (Whitehorse, YK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Shen earned 5.859 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Cloverdale Cash Spiel, moving up 122 spots the World Ranking Standings into 157th place overall with 7.559 total points. Shen ranks 51st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 5.859 points earned so far this season.
