To advance to the championship game, Epping won 5-2 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the 2016 Humpty's Champions Cup in Edmonton, Alberta; and won 5-4 over Pat Simmons (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Humpty's Champions Cup in Edmonton, Alberta;
Epping finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Epping defeated Shaun Meachem (Saskatoon, SK) 9-4, then went on to lose 8-4 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Epping responded with a 9-7 win over David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO). Epping won 7-3 against Brady Clark (Seattle, WA) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Humpty's Champions Cup, Epping take home 59.078 world rankings points along with the $15,500CDN prize, remaining in 8th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 53.267 after improving upon their best so far this season. Epping ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 369.167 points earned so far this season.
