Val Sweeting (Edmonton, AB) qualified for the 2015 Meridian Canadian Open playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO). of the 2015 Meridian Canadian Open in Yorkton, Saskatchewan;

Sweeting finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sweeting defeated Tracy Fleury (Sudbury, NONT) 7-6, then won 8-3 against Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau PwC, SUI). Sweeting went on to lose 7-5 against Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB). Sweeting responded with a 5-4 win over Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Sweeting earned 37.001 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Meridian Canadian Open, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 701.531 total points. Sweeting ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 322.591 points earned so far this season.
