Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) won 8-7 over Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Meridian Canadian Open, held December 8 - 13, 2015 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Homan won 6-0 over Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2015 Meridian Canadian Open in Yorkton, Saskatchewan; and won 7-2 over Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS) in the quarterfinals. of the 2015 Meridian Canadian Open in Yorkton, Saskatchewan;
Homan finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Stefanie Lawton (Saskatoon, SK) 8-2, then won 6-1 against Binia Feltscher (Flims, SUI). Homan went on to lose 7-5 against Alina Paetz (Zurich, SUI). Homan responded with a 7-3 win over Tracy Fleury (Sudbury, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Meridian Canadian Open Championship title, Homan earned 86.337 world rankings points along with the $25,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 957.869 total points. Homan ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 583.709 points earned so far this season.
