In their opening game, Retornaz defeated Ewan MacDonald (Perth, SCO) 6-5, then won 11-5 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Retornaz went on to lose 6-2 against Jia Liang Zang (Harbin, CHN). Retornaz lost 7-1 to Marc Pfister (Bern, SUI). Retornaz lost 8-2 to John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Retornaz lost 8-1 to Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Retornaz lost 5-4 to Evgeniy Arkhipov (Moscow, RUS). Retornaz lost 9-2 to Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) where Retornaz responded with a 9-6 win over Jiri Snitil (Prague, CZE). Retornaz went on to lose 7-6 against Pat Simmons (Calgary, CAN). Retornaz lost 7-5 to Aku Kauste (Helsinki, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.

Retornaz earned 6.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 32 of the event schedule, Retornaz did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Retornaz ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
