In their opening game, MacDonald lost 5-4 to Wes Craig (Victoria, BC), then responded with a 8-3 win over Wayne Tallon (Fredericton, NB). MacDonald went on to lose 7-2 against Randy Neufeld (La Salle, MB). MacDonald responded with a 6-3 win over Ed Sattelberger (Iqaluit, NU). MacDonald went on to lose 7-1 against Jeff McCrady (Ottawa, ON). MacDonald lost 5-1 to Gary Oke (Corner Brook, NL). MacDonald lost 10-5 to Al Hackner (Thunder Bay, NONT). MacDonald lost 10-2 to Glen Hudy (Yellowknife, NT) where MacDonald responded with a 5-2 win over Walter Wallingham (Whitehorse, YK) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week of the event schedule, MacDonald did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. MacDonald ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
