In their opening game, Saitou lost 8-2 to Ayumi Ogasawara (Sapporo, JPN), droppimg another game, 14-3 to Mari Motohashi (Aomori, JPN) where Saitou responded with a 7-5 win over Masami Fujii (Nayaro, JPN). Saitou won 8-4 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Nagano, JPN). Saitou went on to lose 7-4 against Emi Sato (Kyoto, JPN). Saitou lost 9-7 to Touka Furuta (Kitami, JPN). Saitou lost 11-8 to Japan's Rina Ida where Saitou responded with a 8-3 win over Touri Koana (Yamanashi, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Saitou earned 0.715 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 118 spots the World Ranking Standings into 234th place overall with 0.715 total points. Saitou ranks 193rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.715 points earned so far this season.
