Paetz finished 10-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Paetz defeated Ayumi Ogasawara (Sapporo, JPN) 5-3, then won 6-5 against Aileen Sormunen (Blaine, USA) and 7-3 against Daniela Driendl (Fuessen, GER). Paetz went on to lose 8-7 against Lene Nielsen (Hvidovre, DEN). Paetz responded with a 7-3 win over Sijia Liu (Harbin, CHN). Paetz won 8-4 against Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS), then won 8-7 against Sanna Puustinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN) and 6-5 against Kristin Skaslien (Oslo, NOR). Paetz won 7-6 against Jones, then won 8-6 against Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO) and 7-5 against Margaretha Sigfridsson (Skelleftea, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the World Women's Curling Championship Championship title, Paetz earned 45.000 world rankings points. Paetz move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 39.51 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 9th overall with 206.729 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
