Ewan MacDonald (Perth, SCO) won 9-6 over David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the Scottish Curling Championships, held February 15 - 22, 2015 in Perth, Scotland.
MacDonald finished 6-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacDonald defeated Scotland's Ross McCleary 8-3, then went on to lose 5-3 against Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO). MacDonald responded with a 6-4 win over Murdoch. MacDonald won 7-4 against Stuart Taylor (Forfar, SCO), then won 9-7 against Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) and 8-3 against David Mundell (Perth, SCO). MacDonald went on to lose 11-6 against David Edwards (Aberdeen, SCO). MacDonald lost 9-3 to Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, UK) where MacDonald responded with a 7-5 win over Cameron Bryce (Dumfries, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Scottish Curling Championships Championship title, MacDonald earned 9.440 world rankings points, moving up 23 spots the World Ranking Standings into 77th place overall with 24.370 total points. MacDonald ranks 97th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.440 points earned so far this season.
